I have some questions. In the article below, Mr. Witt said he would welcome a public comment period but the board will have to determine how to make a public comment period work logistically. He is quoted as saying, “We’re trying to figure that out,” he said. “In every way we can, we will try to be transparent and make sure the public is aware of what we’re doing.” I’d like to know who is “we”? When Mr. Witt says “we’re trying to figure this out, who are the people involved in these conversations? In addition, the district is quoted as saying the terms of the contract will not be made public until the Board votes on the contract. When was this decision made? By whom? I believe this should be a Board decision and I don’t recall that it was ever noticed or discussed at any public meeting. Can anyone shed some light on these questions? I feel like the press needs to be advised that representations about decisions that have been or are in the process of being made are not in fact including all Board members, and are not being made in public.
