Jeffco Schools class of 2010 has the third-highest graduation rate of the 50 largest school districts in the country. It’s the third consecutive year that Jeffco’s graduation rate has been in the top five of the Diplomas Count report, created by Education Week.
The national education publication recalculates the graduation rates of the 50 largest school districts in the nation to compare progress. They also predict district graduation rates according to the demographics of a student population.
Jeffco Schools’ graduation rate is calculated at 83 percent, just two percentage points behind Fairfax County which holds the top spot on the list at 85 percent.
Jeffco beats the demographic projections by 12 percent.
Jeffco Schools ranked in U.S. News 2013 Best High Schools
There are 83 Colorado schools ranked in 2013 among the U.S. News Best High Schools, including 15 gold medal schools, 24 silver medal schools and 44 bronze medal schools.
