Here’s the latest message from Serving Kids so you can see how much of a difference they make and how we can help:
We have set another record for the most orders filled year-to-date. In March, even with spring break and a computer glitch that took us offline for days, we received and filled 135 orders for kids clothes. For the year, we have filled 1,234 orders and sent these clothes to 117 schools or special programs in Jeffco Schools. 22% of the orders were for students who are homeless.
The kids are now wanting summer clothes so we are rearranging the shelves, hoping to put winter things away very soon. Lost and Found items from several schools have given us some beautiful jackets (after being washed). Clothing drives over the holidays were very generous. We still find that we need to shop every month to have enough socks and underwear to give.
If you are in a group or neighborhood with kids who constantly outgrow their clothes, we would love to have more people spread the word that we need good used clothes for kids in our schools. Let us know and we will coordinate with the donors. The Serving Kids phone number is 303-982-2225.
Please donate to us to support Serving Kids! No one makes a dime from your donations and it makes a difference in the lives of children right here in Jeffco! Clean out your closets, pick up some new socks, and drop to any of our amazing volunteers listed above! As winter ends, remember those coats that can be used by someone else next year!
If you’d like to offer your location as another drop off spot, we’d appreciate that too! Let us know!
