Something’s missing…

So we know that the new communications staff PR firm is here only for political reasons, but we’re just bothered about something that’s been missing.

This time last year (actually June of last year) Support Jeffco Kids was able to report the great Return on Investment for Jeffco taxpayers when we tally the scholarships earned by our Jeffco Graduates:

“We’d also like to point out, Jeffco 2014 graduates earned over $79million in scholarships http://jeffcoweb.jeffco.k12.co.us/communications/parent_news/archive/2014/June/2014.06.13.html

So where’s that information for the 2015 graduates? The new year has started. It’s not like we didn’t give them enough time to report on it and the new PR firm was clearly working during summer (and we paid for it!)

Nothing to be found on the district website.

Nothing posted on individual high school websites.

Nothing mentioned in the June ChalkTalk.

Instead, Supt. Dan McMinimee used his June 2015 Chalk Talk – News for Jeffco Parents to regurgitate Board President Ken Witt’s talking points from his response to the recall. Is the superintendent so worried about making sure he keeps his boss happy (and willing to put the district at risk by using district resources to do so), that he’s forgotten who he’s really suppose to be serving – The Students?

Where’s the Jeffco Pride?

Help us gather that information, so we can share with our Jeffco Community the great ROI we get from what are still great schools. If you are a member of your high school’s School Accountability Committee and have that information, or if you have seen it shared by your principal in a newsletter, or if you are willing to contact your high school principal and ask for the information, we’d love to know, so we can recognize the Jeffco Class of 2015 for their great efforts, too.

As another reminder of the good work that is still happening in Jeffco Schools:

Eleven Jeffco High Schools that were named in the top 50 schools in the state of Colorado by US News! Please note, Douglas County had NO high schools in the top 100 ( http://www.usnews.com/…/douglas-county-school-district-no-r… )

Congratulations to:
