Brad Rupert, Susan Harmon & Ron Mitchell Announce Re-Election Campaigns for Jeffco School Board
Focused on making Jeffco the best school district in the nation
Jefferson County, CO – Today, Susan Harmon, Ron Mitchell and Brad Rupert filed to run for re-election to the Jefferson County School Board. The three were elected as members of the school board following the recall that took place in 2015.
“We are asking voters for support to continue the work we began two years ago to create a positive, collaborative work environment in Jeffco that results in student success and improved achievement. We look forward to working with our new superintendent Dr. Jason Glass to make the Jeffco School District one of the best in the nation,” stated Board President Ron Mitchell, who is a former high school principal.
Board member Susan Harmon, an attorney, says Jeffco Schools has turned the tide and the board members want to ensure continued success. “We have more work to do to ensure all graduates are career and college ready. We must attract and retain top teachers and principals. We’re excited to continue to work with our community on these issues and others.”
Engaging the community to help inform board decision-making and placing a priority on continued transparency also are critical. “We look forward to listening to the community’s priorities for our students and public schools,” added Brad Rupert.
The three incumbents will each run independent campaigns – Friends of Ron Mitchell, Friends of Brad Rupert and Friends of Susan Harmon. They have filed their intent to seek re-election and opened their campaign committees with the Secretary of State.
