There is so much information about safety and education and it’s nearly impossible to keep up. We know that having our kids meet the safety leaders in our community is one of the best ways we can help build community and keep our kids safe. We also know that parents need access to resources so we can support learning at home. We have done our best to put every resource for parents and kids in one place for you to get key information in a fun atmosphere!

Safe2Tell – This Colorado resource is a National leader in keeping kids in Colorado safe. “Each year, Safe2Tell Colorado receives thousands of reports on bullying, cyber-bullying, suicide threats, mental health concerns, child abuse, substance abuse, violence, planned school attacks, and other concerning behaviors. Each concern reported to Safe2Tell Colorado allows for caring, concerned adults to effectively intervene in the life a child or youth who is struggling.”
Cheezo – Internet Safety for our kids! “District Attorney Investigator Mike Harris has been working Internet crimes against children since 1996. By 2005, the District Attorney’s Office was very concerned by the increasing number of kids spending unsupervised hours on the Internet. The Child Sex Offender Internet Investigations (CSOII) Unit was created under the direction of Investigator Mike Harris. The CSOII Unit is nicknamed “Cheezo”, which is also the name of their mascot, a yellow five-foot-tall cool cat.”
Arvada Fire Department – These community heroes have information on bike safety, fire safety, car seat safety, and so much more! Bonus – the kids will love seeing the fire trucks!
Arvada Police – Our local Arvada officers will be stopping by as they are able throughout the event to meet parents and kids. We love our Arvada Police and all they do for our kids and schools! We are hoping for lots of opportunities to huge an officer!
Jeffco Schools – Our own safety and security staff will be on hand to answer questions. The drills our kids learn at school can sound scary to parents and the information is so much different than the drills we had as children. Our staff heroes can also help parents with tools and information to support student safety.
Mental Health Colorado – “Mental Health Colorado advocates for the more than one million Coloradans who experience a mental health or substance use disorder each year. We engage policymakers, providers, the public, and the press to promote early intervention, expand access to affordable services, and eradicate stigma and discrimination.”
Fundraising Fire Engine – A local company and community partner who helps schools and PTAs raise funds and advocates for our Colorado kids. Extra bonus – their restored and historic fire engines are amazing fun for the kids and adults alike!
Colorado Priorities Great Education – “All Colorado children, regardless of their background, where they live, or how they learn, have the opportunity to attend excellent schools and colleges with strong leadership and highly trained, innovative teachers, who prepare students to be engaged, successful adults.” Bonus – volunteers will be on hand to give you information about Colorado Priorities and you can also sign a petition if you haven’t yet had the chance!
Jeffco PTA & Colorado PTA – PTA has been a leader in advocacy for children for over a hundred years. The resources available for parents are too numerous to mention! You can help your child by stopping by to get this information!
CDPHE/Good to Know – Amendment 64 changed a lot of things in Colorado. Not matter where you stand, the resources available to talk to your kids are needed and you’ll want these tools!
