Class Description: Experts estimate that we see and hear more than 7,000 media messages every day. How can you know what’s influencing your child? The apps and texts kids use can help them build each other up, or can bully and shame. Learn about some of the media they’re using, how you can monitor their usage, and offer them support.

Speaker: Joel Smith has been a therapist in Colorado for 20 years. He’s offered services to adults, kids, and families, specializing in trauma, addictions, and LGBTQ issues. Joel is a Certified EMDR therapist, and offers consultation services to other therapists around the Denver area. Joel offers trainings and presentations on a variety of topics, including trauma, suicide prevention, addiction, and wellness.

Directions: Miners Alley Playhouse is located at 1224 Washington Ave, on the second floor of the Foss building. The entrance is located on the corner of 13th St. and Washington Ave in Golden. Towards the rear of the building there is plenty of parking available in the lot between Miner’s Alley and Arapahoe Street and 12th & 13th as well as street parking.
