McMinimee Agreement

An agenda item, 7.04, is noted for the March 9th meeting, entitled “McMinimee Agreement and Appointment of Acting Superintendent Elliott.” Here’s the text from the agenda, in italic:

Subject: McMinimee Agreement and Appointment of Acting Superintendent Elliott


Recommended Action: to approve the agreement with Dan McMinimee as presented; and, to appoint Terry Elliott as acting superintendent to serve through June 30, 2017 or until a new superintendent is hired by the Board of Education and assumes the duties of superintendent, whichever occurs first.


  1. Dan McMinimee’s contract with Jeffco Public Schools continues through June 30, 2017.
  2. Mr. McMinimee and the Board of Education have agreed that for the remainder of the term of his contract, he will not be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the district and will instead assume an advisory role to assist with the transition to a new superintendent and provide other services as needed and requested by the President of the Board.
  3. A written agreement setting out the rights and obligations of Mr. McMinimee and the district during the remainder of his contract has been prepared for approval.
  4. Chief School Effectiveness Officer Terry Elliott has agreed to serve as acting superintendent for day-to-day operation of Jeffco Public Schools through June 30, 2017 or as needed.
