Gratitude for Crissy Duran

Our Jeffco Schools staff are some of the VERY BEST in the state. Gratitude Attitude was started to recognize our amazing staff members.

We were delighted to recognize Standley Lake High School Band Director and teacher Crissy Duran and thank her for the work she does to Support Jeffco Kids.

Crissy was nominated by Michele Trujillo.

“A tough year for Ms. Duran personally, losing her father and being diagnosed with MS, has not translated into a rough school year. She has maintained a positive, encouraging environment. And has modeled perseverance at the highest level. Band directors put in countless hours between marching band, concerts, events, rehearsals, field trips, musicals, etc. And Ms. Duran is no exception. Sacrificing time with her family to serve and lead our kids in the early hours, off hours and late hours. I don’t know how she does it all. But I am so thankful she does.”

Crissy was also nominated by Kristen Simon.

“She revived matching band. Gives up family time to encourage student’s love of music. Her mantra “World denomination Through Band.” Duran (as her students affectionately call her) has brought adaptive band to SPED, giving more students the opportunity to shine through music. Her students love her and she gives her all to these students.”

Thank you, Crissy!
