Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make our community service project such a huge success! Over 50 people & businesses signed up to be drop off locations and collected donations of clothing, foods, and feminine hygiene products and delivered those to Serving Kids of the Jeffco Schools Foundation, the Action Center, and Support the Girls.
The generosity of the Jeffco community was again, overwhelming! We are so grateful to everyone who participated!
Sharing with you a thank you note from the Serving Kids volunteers and an update from Serving Kids:
Volunteers felt as if the pressure was off in January after the busiest fall we’ve ever had. However, everything is relative, as we had the busiest January we’ve ever had.
In January, we filled and delivered 116 bags that contained 2,346 clothing items for kids. (In recent years we filled about 75 bags in January.) Of the 116 orders filled, 20 were sent to kids who are homeless.
For the year, we have filled 1215 orders that have gone to 134 different schools or school programs. Of these, 263 were for homeless students.
Without the 35 dedicated Serving Kids volunteers; the support of the Jeffco Schools Foundation, Jefferson County Public Schools, and JCAA; and the generosity of individuals, churches, school groups and Support Jeffco Kids, we could not continue to keep all Jeffco students in good, appropriate clothing.
Thank you!
We’d like to thank and recognize the volunteers for collecting, advertising, opening your homes and driving all over the county and delivering the donations:
